We Are a Very Experienced Team of Psychotherapists
All of the counselling and psychotherapy offered at Caring Space is confidential and works within a code of ethics, which is accredited by the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).
The service was established and is managed by the clinical manager Michael O’Brien, who has over 20 years’ experience in the field of counseling and psychotherapy. In the past his education combined with his experience has allowed him to work within the private, public and the third sectors in Ireland.
Some of this work involved supporting personnel from the Irish Defense Forces who had suffered trauma as a result of their operational deployments. He was also involved in the establishment of a counselling service for prisoners within the Irish Prison Service. More recently he established the services of Pieta House in the South East, where he worked as the Clinical Manager since 2016. He also works as a college lecturer where he contributes to both graduate and under-graduate programs in counselling and psychotherapy.
The appointments at Caring Space are recognized as being a part of front-line services supporting our community’s mental health and as such can be facilitated face to face in line with current government guidelines. However, if you would prefer not to meet face to face at this time, private sessions can be arranged online.
A number of Irish Health Insurance companies will reimburse their members for child and adult counselling, when the member submits a receipt for their counselling session. As with all insurance companies the terms and conditions apply, and it is therefore advisable that clients contact their health insurance companies directly to confirm the level of cover, they hold prior to incurring an expense they wish to claim for
Caring Space is located in Midleton and is easily accessed as it is within walking distance of bus stops on the main street and the local train station. If you are travelling by car there is ample streetside parking on Druys Avenue and the surrounding area.
